Hoath is a rural village just outside of Canterbury. It is walkable from my studio which is adjacent to the former colliery site at Chislet. The heart of the village includes a small primary school, camp site, village hall and the Prince of Wales pub. A late medieval church, Holy Cross with a shingled spire, stands on Church Road.
Hoath means “boggy heath” which seems a little unfair and does not reflect how it looks today.
