Studio product photography for interior design projects

We’ve been working with Atholl Marbled Glass on studio product photography for interior design projects that have included Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge, nightclubs and private properties. For the last year we’ve been producing high quality renditions for them of marbled glass originals to use in large-format printed panels.

Atholl combine historic artisan techniques with modern technology to create unique and bespoke designed marbled glass for use by interior designers and architects.

A German store design company co-ordinated the Harvey Nics project, using the glass plinths designed by Atholl for display in their newly refurbished mens-wear department.

To achieve this, the ancient art of marbled glass making has been combined with a 21st century innovation – creating exceptionally high resolution photography to output files for specialist UV printing onto glass. Because of this technique, the random nature of marbling can be harnessed, tailored to each client, with production flexibility as to the size of each panel.

Rich’s medium format Sinar and Leaf back were used so that we could create a grid pattern for each part of the original glass panels to produce 100GB output files. This is the same process used when photographing original floors and coverings in historic houses.
