New Stagecoach bus fleet designs are inspired by three distinct Kent icons

The latest and new Stagecoach bus fleet are inspired by three distinct Kent icons. The £3.4 million worth of modern double deck buses come equipped with aircon, wifi and charging points.

For a particular route known as the “Triangle” (Herne Bay, Whitstable and Canterbury Triangle), Stagecoach commissioned Kristina Gwynne of Gwynne Graphics who was has produced a clever series of designs, made up of triangles to form Canterbury Cathedral, a Whitstable diver, and aviatrix Amy Johnson. They’re colourful, modern, and distinctive pieces of artwork.

It is the last of these, Amy Johnson that stood out for me when I was photographing the buses for Stagecoach. It’s not just that the design is so striking, but also that it is another sign that momentum is gathering to raise awareness about Amy’s story and her link, though in tragic circumstance to Herne Bay.
